"I'm gonna change the world!"

Sue and I were on our way home last night from seeing "Walk The Line" on our date night when we called Amy to see if she got home from StuCo (Student Community). Amy had been out with a group of students bringing Thanksgiving meals to people who are going through tough times financially. When Sue asked her how it went she just blurted out, "I'm going to change the world!" And Sue said, "You can do it honey...if you do what God wants you to do - you will change the world...I really believe that." I love it!

I'm still getting the details on what happened at StuCo last night - it sounds like an amazing night! But I love that Amy is 15 years old and has a vision that goes beyond herself. I love that I have a wife who not only affirms Amy's abilities and gifts, but truly believes that she can change the world. I believe it too!

This picture is from a trip Amy and I took last August to Mexico to build houses for people who need shelter. It was an awesome trip for me personally and it was a real treat for me to do this with my daughter. She was amazing with the kids (as you can see) and perhaps this is a glimpse at how she is already starting to change our world.

What Kids Can Do With Nickels and Dimes!

Over the last year our Kid City have been giving back to God to help build a house in Rwanda, Africa for three orphaned kids. On the left you see the dilapidated shelter these orphaned kids were living in and on the right you see their brand new home! The kids of CCC gave about a $1000 to make this happen. And this weekend they got to see a video during Kids City of this house being built. I've been getting e-mails from parents and they are totally pumped! If you want to get the rest of the story you can read about it on Tammy Melchien's blog. Tammy is our Kids City Director and does a great job!
